He’s fine as a narrator for the English characters, though I will always and forever wish that I could find all of the narrated by Alexander Spencer. Wodehouse is a perfect humorist not just for his farcical plots, but also for his beautiful prose style.

Overall, these stories aren’t his best—there are still some hilarious moments, but some of the stories were rather predictable, which takes away from the fun Wodehouse is at his best when he keeps you on your toes and, although you feel something coming, you’re still surprised when it happens.

I’m obsessed with Blandings Castle and I want to read more. I love the Blandings Castle stories. Montrose Mulliner’s fiancee has him cowed and ditches him for a big game hunter until an ape goes on the rampage. He is widely recognised as the greatest 20th-century writer boandings humour in the English language. I was going out to check on the garden. I could be pedantic and point out some specific things I love in these quotes, but castke is not in the Wodehouse spirit.
